The man recalls a school director named Vasile (?) and completing seven classes before he went alone to Bucharest. He says a Jewish child had to know Romanian, Hungarian and Yiddish. Answering Kerler, he says Yiddish was spoken in Bucharest, in a somewhat different variety, and that people could still understand each other.
Kerler asks about Yiddish theater in Bucharest. The man says he used to go to the Yiddish theater (named something like Baraşium (?)), and both note that it still exists today with few Jews left. Kerler remarks that the actors now learn the words without knowing Yiddish. The man then mentions relatives, among them an uncle who was director of a Romanian school, but the passage is unclear.
Kerler asks about Yiddish newspapers in Bucharest. The man says there were several, from different parties and organizations, including Revisionist (?) and Betar ones. He says he would look into newspapers in those years.
