Shekhter answers a number of dialectological questions from the AHEYM Yiddish linguistic questionnaire. He also tells a linguistic joke and explains how they made dreidls (00:40:00).
Shekhter answers Kerler's questions from the dialectological questionnaire. Kerler prompts with Russian and Ukrainian words and phrases, and Shekhter supplies the Yiddish forms. Items include adjectives such as sour, early and late, cold, near and nearer, and pronoun sentences about 'he' and 'she'. They also cover religious and moral terms such as a believer, a baptised convert and a pious or honest person. Further items cover household and everyday words (bed, tree and tree/oil, the number ten, vodka, thousand), street, road and well, sitting at the table, the attic, and midwife and grandparents. Shekhter tells a short joke about a man going to an office, and recalls how Jewish children made dreidls at Hanukkah, from a spool with a stick, as well as the Tishah be-Av burrs thrown into beards. The passage ends with more questions on face, 'back' and similar words.
Also includes a prayer and church vocabulary section, Tishah be-Av burrs, and a household and street vocabulary block.
